Off-Site Goals
01
Concentrate our work where it matters most
Look at every program through cost data, impact data, and group insight, and agree on what continues, pauses, or stops. Judge each one against how well it executes the mission, at both the macro and micro level. The question is where the resources move the mission furthest. We will also discuss our vision for the new office.
OUTCOME A clear 2027 program focus.
02
Take an honest account of 2026
Review goals against results. This includes the development team's performance, pipeline, and Q4 fundraising plan; impact measurements; and team structure and human resources, including the outcome of the contractors' review.
OUTCOME A clear fundraising plan for Q4 and 2027 and a view of where our people and structure need to change.
03
Understand how we work together, and with AI
Use the PI Index to look at our individual and team behavioral patterns and how they help or hinder us. Discuss how AI could change the way the organization operates.
OUTCOME Team dynamics we commit to working on, and a view of where AI could strengthen our operations.
04
Set the direction for OFF 2027
Leave with a working theme, a format, and the big budget buckets. Three strategic areas: first, whether tech freedom and AI become a track within OFF. Second, sponsorship goals, ticket strategy, and a rough budget. Third, how we approach speaker selection and vetting.
OUTCOME A clear OFF 2027 vision.
05
Translate decisions into resources
Turn the outcomes of the discussion into the 2027 budget framework and the content of our grant applications.
OUTCOME A clear 2027 budget and the core focus for our grant applications.
